EDINBURGH have named 12 players who will leave the club at the end of the season. On top of the already announced departures of flanker Jamie Ritchie, hooker Dave Cherry, scrum-half Ali Price and centre Matt Scott, it has now been confirmed that fellow Scotland caps Mark Bennett, Javan Sebastian and Jamie Hodgson are also moving on, as is injury-cursed Argentina star Emiliano Boffelli.

EDINBURGH have signed utility-back Piers O’Connor from Connacht on a two-year deal. The 29-year-old, who is equally adept in the centres, wing and at full-back, will make the move to the Scottish capital this summer.

HOLLIE DAVIDSON will become first female referee to officiate an EPCR Final when she takes charge of the Challenge Cup climax next Friday [23rd May] between Bath Rugby and Lyon Olympique Universitaire at the Principality Stadium in Cardiff. Her assistant referees will be Gianluca Gnecchi of Italy and and Eoghan Cross of Ireland, while fellow Scot Mike Adamson will be the Television Match Official.

MATT SCOTT has announced his retirement from playing rugby, bringing the curtain down on a 14 year professional career which has seen him play 100 games during three stints with Edinburgh(2011-2016, 2018-2019 and 2024-25), 35 games for Gloucester (2016-2018) and 80 games for Leicester Tigers (2019-2024), as well as earning 40 caps for Scotland.
