The Scottish Sun

The Scottish Sun

The Scottish version of The Sun, called The Scottish Sun, was introduced in 1987 and is headquartered in Glasgow. While it shares a lot of content with its main edition, it focuses more on Scottish news and sports. The first editor was Jack Irvine, who came from the Daily Record. In the early 1990s, The Scottish Sun openly backed the pro-independence Scottish National Party. Meanwhile, the paper maintained its support for the Conservatives, who were losing influence in Scotland during that period.
