    Bomb squad shuts down Edinburgh street after 'suspicious item' found (Image: NQ) The bomb squad has been called to a scene in Craigmillar, Edinburgh, after reports of a ‘suspicious item’ being found. Officers arrived at the scene at Loglanlea Gardens around 4.55pm on Wednesday afternoon. EOD was also contacted and a cordon has been put in place, with the public asked to avoid the area.

    Joe Buchanan was found dead (Image: Police Scotland) Police have launched a murder inquiry after a man whose family said had a “heart of gold” was found fatally injured in the street. Officers believe Joe Buchanan, 35, was attacked in a “targeted incident”. Police Scotland said he was fatally injured after an incident in Springhill Street, Douglas, South Lanarkshire, at about 8.35pm on Sunday. He died at the scene.

    Manhunt launched after woman and dog injured in 'targeted attack' A manhunt has been launched after a woman was seriously assaulted in Rutherglen on Tuesday night. Officers were called to the scene in Lochaber Drive around 9pm on Tuesday, April 15 after a 47-year-old was injured while her dog also suffered injuries. It is believed it was a targeted attack and the woman was taken to hospital for treatment before being released.
