If you don’t read the fine print, you would imagine My Name is Alfred Hitchcock is a documentary about the filmmaker, using the director’s own words to narrate the story of his life and work. It even says so right there in the credits: “Written and Voiced by Alfred Hitchcock.” Almost immediately something feels wrong. Hitchcock references his own death. He talks about iPhones and 5G.
