Leaders from every sector of the U.S. digital infrastructure market gathered in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, on February 23–25. Word Around the Sound is… the Afrobeats Party presented by the Global Bounce Presents team is celebrating their 2-year anniversary. For the momentous occasion, the team will be taking over both Seattle and Portland to bring the Afrobeats sound to a dance floor near you. Since 2014, DJ Nayiram has been curating Afrobeats events all around the city. During the lockdown when social gatherings were banned, he turned to streaming weekly afrocentric DJ sets.

Word Around the Sound is… Noah Coinflip dropped a new project titled Funnel For The Heavens and quite frankly, it’s incredible. Noah seems to attract talented folks to him and is able to allow them to flourish in their talents. His comforting aura translates to a soothing sound that only a heavenly entity could provide. The maturity in his compositions is something you may see from a musician who is decades into his career. At times, the production can feel light and airy, almost ethereal.

On Friday, June 9, the Seattle World Tour will stop off in Capitol Hill at the new location of the beloved Café Racer. After a long time nestled in the heart of the University District, the beloved community focused cafe and art space shut down and needed to regroup and find a new home. With the closure of the long-running Barca during the pandemic, came a new chapter for Café Racer as they took over the lease at 1510 11th Ave.

For the third night of the 2023 Seattle World Tour, we’re heading into Pioneer Square to hang out in the historic Central Saloon. The SWT is no stranger to the Central, having stopped off there during the 2019 tour as well. On Thursday, June 8, Shaina Shepherd, Beverly Crusher, Real Don Music and Biblioteka will take the stage. The Central Saloon in Pioneer SquareFounded in 1892, the Central Saloon has long been a gathering space for the community.

The Belltown Yacht Club threw out their anchor a few years ago on 1st Ave in Seattle, landing them in the space adjacent to the Screwdriver bar.
