This is the 4th year of the “Car Corral” being part of Valley Center Western Days. And this year, for the first time, it will be located at the horseshoe road in front of VC Community Center. The man putting on the show is a true car afficionado, Richard “Roscoe” Tanner. Last year they had 40 cars, ranging from a 1920’s car—to one from 1985. This year Tanner is hoping for even more.

A young professional magician who literally just moved to Valley Center (the day before I interviewed him for this article) will be doing a magic show at this year’s Western Days festival. His name is Noah Bentz, he is 24, and his show (and website) is called The Wonders Show. He will do an hour show on the Saturday of Western Days and then spend some time walking around the festival doing magical tricks.

The biggest event in Valley Center, the 75th annual Western Days festival and parade, is a week away, and the volunteers are scrambling—but in an organized way—to put it all together. The March 13 Irish Stew Cook-off was the kick-off for the Western Days season as it included the announcement of the two Honorary Mayor candidates, LaVonne Johnson, representing the Valley Center Business Association, and Marlyce Howard, representing the VC Pageant.

When a man who lives million dollar paycheck to million dollar paycheck and sits on a golden toilet tells families they can get by on two toys for Christmas, that man is not connected to the average person. When I pen such words, I’m accused of Trump Derangement Syndrome. TDS infects the president’s enemies and supporters, causing both to behave in wildly inappropriate ways. I don’t have TDS, because I don’t belong to a tribe—Unless it’s the conservative tribe.
