Several South Shore restaurants have opened in April, with more anticipated openings throughout the summer. Jojo's, a bakery and charcuterie board shop, opened in Weymouth's Shaw's Plaza. Shipwrck'd in Hull received a seasonal liquor license and is hiring. Doctor's Island Brewing in Hull is holding a soft opening for the 2025 season. A Pembroke couple will open Massachusetts' first two Baya Bar locations in Weymouth and Marshfield.

April school vacation is coming up quickly, and so is the need to plan for it. With the week off for kids and still a work week for many parents, winging it isn't always an option. Luckily the South Shore has no shortage of things to do − both week-long and one-day events covering everything from getting outdoors to getting on stage. The one catch is that many of the programs require registrations, so now is the time to get cracking on seeing what's out there to before all the slots get filled.

WEYMOUTH − Temu and Wish can try their darndest with all their flashing coupons, gimmicks and penny-or-less promises, but for truly free stuff free and clear, feel free to stop by the bi-annual Weymouth Clothing Giveaway this Saturday at Weymouth High School. The giveaway will run from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. on April 12 in the school's cafeteria. Parking and admission to the event are, well, you know ... free.
