    Plans to extend the arcade on Wellington Pier, Great Yarmouth, UK, have been recommended for approval by the resort’s planning officers. The scheme, by Family Amusements, will effectively double the size of the arcade. The proposition went before the council’s development management committee yesterday. This is despite some misgivings by other interested parties, including Historic England that noted that the extension would be "a large, utilitarian addition" to the seafront.

    Free entrance to the pier at Weston-super-Mare in the UK is now available to another 70,000-plus households in the area, following a decision by the pier company. In what it calls "a major expansion" of its My Grand Pier Card, locals can access the pier for nothing from May 26. This is developed around postcodes and the expansion brings in another 72,800 homes to bring the total to 178,900. The free access comes with a range of discounts and some exclusive offers.

    The first Pepper Pig immersive experience is to open at the Metrocentre shopping complex in Gateshead, UK, later this year. Peppa Pig: Surprise Party will take up 19,000sq.ft of space in which young visitors can interact with the characters from the popular TV cartoon series and tour scenery from the show. They will be able to hear stories, see the puppets and theatre shows and there will be plenty of hands-on experiences.

    The funeral of Sue Howell, wife of the late Roy Howell of Maygay Machines, will be held on Monday, June 16, it has been announced by her family. The service will be at Morville Church, St Gregory the Great, near Wolverhampton WV16 4RN. Sue, who was 76, was well known in the UK gaming machine industry as her husband Roy led Maygay to many successes in the 1980s and 1990s. Sue passed on May 16 leaving children Nicholas and Katie.

The Arcade Arena will be in London and will follow the successful opening of locations in Manchester and in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. Central to the venues is the Pac-Man Live Experience and Chaos Karts, both of which will be part of the London venue.
