A Nashua man accused of beating another man and threatening him with a knife was held overnight pending arraignment. Douglas McCarty, 19, whose address wasn't provided, is facing seven charges, including two felonies, after the alleged victim told police they'd been threatened with a knife, police said.

Nashua’s Ethics Review Committee has found that Mayor Jim Donchess did not violate the city’s conduct regulations or ethics rules when he authorized city funds to cover legal expenses for an alderman at large. The ruling, issued Tuesday, clears Donchess of accusations by two city residents that he failed to comply with state law regarding procedural matters and acted without authority to indemnify Alderman-at-Large Melbourne Moran Jr., according to the five-page order.
