ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) – Former New Mexico lawmaker Sheryl Williams Stapleton, accused of swindling millions out of Albuquerque Public Schools, is now under the supervision of pretrial services. Stapleton has pleaded not guilty to 35 charges, including conspiracy to defraud the Unites States and multiple counts of bribery and money laundering. Stapleton was scheduled for a pretrial hearing Tuesday morning in front of Judge David Murphy, but she showed up 30 minutes late for that hearing.
