Swisher died in 2024 after battling leukemia. Officials with the department said the swing will serve as a reminder of Swisher’s legacy and standard he set to serve.

KINSTON, N.C. (WNCT) — Two people were arrested in Kinston after law enforcement investigated a reported breaking and entering of a church. It happened May 12, 2025 at New Praise & Worship Church on Old Snow Hill Road. Officers reviewed video footage and identified a suspected vehicle. Anthony Cox, 62, was identified as the vehicle’s registered owner. Warrants were taken out for Cox’s arrest. Officers arrested Cox after a traffic stop.

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) – Albuquerque Fire Rescue is preparing for high winds to return to the metro. A red flag warning and fire watch are in effect until 9 p.m. on Tuesday, with AFR crews and Wildland Task Force on standby. Because of dry weather and high winds, AFR will be doing Open Space patrols, including the Foothills, West Mesa, and the Bosque, starting on May 17.
