The Government Railway Police (GRP) and the Railway Protection Force (RPF) seized eight pistols and 16 empty magazines from the Tripura Sundari Express at the Agartala railway station on Thursday. Hours after the Indian armed forces struck nine terrorist hideouts in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir as part of Operation Sindoor on Wednesday, Tripura Governor Indrasena Reddy Nallu said no one who tries to create disturbance in India will be left unpunished. Hours after Indian armed forces struck terrorist targets in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir in response to last month’s Pahalgam massacre, Tripura held mock drills along with other states and Union Territories on Wednesday, as ordered by the Centre as a measure to check preparedness for any emergency. The mock drills were conducted across all eight districts, with the largest being held at Umakanta Academy grounds in Agartala.
