Sacramento's local bowling community is celebrating one of their own. During a league tournament, 24-year-old Aaron Tabaka, who grew up in Orangevale and graduated from Casa Roble High School, fell one pin shy of breaking an all-time Sacramento Bowling League record.Tabaka was just 4 years old when he pushed his first ball down the lane.While growing up in the Sacramento region, Tabaka bowled as a youth at Country Club Lanes, and now he works as a Pro Shop Technician.

Dressage athlete Genay Vaughn and her 14-year-old horse named Gino have won three West Coast World Cup qualifiers in a row and are now heading to Switzerland. Vaughn and Gino have been a team for eight years. Last month, they earned a trip to their first World Cup finals, where only the top 18 riders in the world will compete. "I qualified in the discipline of dressage which is French for training. It's kind of similar to ballet or gymnastics. You have a pattern that you must execute," Vaughn said.
