Emergency crews are searching for a person who fell into the South Yuba River on Saturday night, according to the Nevada County Consolidated Fire District. Nevada County Fire said it responded to reports of a female who had fallen near the Highway 49 bridge around 8:33 p.m. A search and rescue operation began which included water crews and aerial surveillance with help from the California Highway Patrol.

Body-worn camera footage from a shooting involving officers was released by the Sacramento Police Department on Saturday. On May 2, officers responded to the scene of a domestic violence report. A caller reported the suspect threw a knife at them, tried to molest them and stole their property, including their BB gun. When police arrived, the suspect, 37-year-old Johnny Balcorta ran and hid from officers for over an hour before being found near Matsui Park and confronted on Jibboom Street.
