The San Diego Padres avoided a four-game sweep against the Los Angeles Dodgers with a 5-3 win on Thursday night. But things got ugly in the ninth. Fernando Tatis Jr. was hit by a pitch, causing both benches to clear and both managers to get ejected. Then, Shohei Ohtani was hit by a pitch, which led Padres reliever Robert Suarez to be thrown out before the game came to an end with the bases loaded.

The Baltimore Orioles are not having a good season. The Orioles fired manager Brandon Hyde early in the year, and the free agent signings this past offseason look worse with each passing day. The Tampa Bay Rays saw their four-game winning streak come to an end on Tuesday in a 5-1 loss to the Baltimore Orioles. On Wednesday, it sure looked like the Rays were going to lose again. The first inning of Wednesday's game went without a run scored. However, the second inning was disastrous for Tampa Bay as Baltimore scored eight runs on six hits with three home runs in an ugly inning. Rays starter Taj Bradley failed to make it out of the inning.
