No one was sure how old The Renfrew Highlands Pipes and Drums band was until members began to do the research. It turns out that today, in 2023, the band is a couple of years older than most suspected. After three years of silence, music and performances have returned to Renfrew’s 112 year old Scottish band. The first gig was in collaboration with the McDougall Mill Museum on Aug. 6. “When we revamped the band we thought it was the 110th,” Pipe Major Melissa Friske said.
