The City of Delaware has voted to sign a petition that will include it in a Special Improvement District (SID) aiming to improve the appearance of downtown Delaware. On Monday, the Delaware City Council authorized City Manager Paul Brake to sign Main Street Delaware’s petition, adding the City’s three properties in the district — City Hall, COhatch, and the Main Street office — to the SID.

A second reading of an ordinance that would approve a settlement between the Delaware Municipal Court Clerk’s Office and former Chief Deputy Clerk Lisa Keller will be held during Monday’s meeting of the Delaware City Council. The settlement, which stems from a letter sent to the City from Keller’s legal counsel last November regarding her employment with the Delaware Municipal Clerk of Court’s Office from May 2023 through October 2024, is for $50,000.

Powell voters will have the opportunity to decide on an electric service aggregation program this fall. On Tuesday, the Powell City Council voted to approve an ordinance authorizing the City to place a measure on the general election ballot in November directing the City on whether it should initiate an opt-out aggregation program. Should voters approve the ballot measure, the City would then begin the process of reviewing various suppliers to secure the best rate for the community.
