RANTOUL — A severe storm that swept through Rantoul about 1 p.m. Wednesday left many properties without power. “The power outage is pretty widespread across the community,” Village Administrator Scott Eisenhauer said. He said crews were working to restore power as quickly as possible. Several trees were downed, and many others sustained limb damage from what is believed to have been straight-line winds. The storm also caused damage to the Rantoul Family Sports Complex just east of Interstate 57.
