The Strand Theatre held a premiere event Thursday for the first episode of “Gabriel and the Guardians,” an animated series created by Delaware resident Jason Moody. The event was attended by more than 200 members of the community. Moody began working on the show during the COVID pandemic in 2020 and entered full production of the show with Angel Studios in 2023. The first episode launched on the Angel Studios streaming service earlier this year.

The Olentangy Orange softball team got back on track after Monday’s loss to Hilliard Bradley, notching a walk-off win against rival Olentangy Liberty on Wednesday before outslugging host Hilliard Davidson for another OCC win just a day later. The Patriots, ranked sixth in the state in the first coaches poll of the season, jumped out to a 2-0 first-inning lead thanks to three straight hits — Aubrey Del Cecato singled, Kailey McGinnis doubled and Hailey Massie singled to bring both home.
