It’s been a while since we’ve updated readers on what’s going on in the village of Ashley. In no particular order:• An animal ordinance was approved on March 4 by the Village Council. Section two dealt with harboring animals. “No person shall own, keep, or harbor any exotic animal… or… venomous snake or other venomous animal within the village corporation,” the legislation read.

LEWIS CENTER — Orange Township’s Zoning Commission has been extremely active in the first quarter of 2025, and here is a summary of actions taken from its meeting minutes. • The commission’s first meeting of the year was on Jan. 7. After electing officers, it heard old business where a subarea of Evans Farm Epcon requested a change to “allow townhomes and duplexes to be mixed into one condominium community with single-family ranch condominium dwellings” at 4948 S. Old State Road, Lewis Center.

Throughout Delaware County over the Memorial Day weekend, area residents attended parades, ceremonies, and viewed displays honoring those individuals who gave the ultimate sacrifice for their country. One such display was located on the grounds of the Lewis Center United Methodist Church on Lewis Center Road. Not only were the grounds decorated with over 200 American flags, but the Traveling Korean War Memorial (pictured) was on display Saturday through Monday.
