MOORHEAD — Moorhead Country Club will welcome in some of the area’s best amateur golfers this weekend for the Red River Amateur Championship, and for the fifth year in a row, WDAY Television will be televising the tournament. Coverage will begin on Friday, June 20 at noon on WDAY Xtra of the first round, with many of the contenders on the men’s and women’s side either already teed off or just starting their rounds when the television coverage begins.

Lincoln, Nebraska tight end Caden Ward announced his commitment to the Bison after attending NDSU’s camp. He was officially offered by the Bison on Friday.

FARGO — It’s been a quick ascent up the recruiting boards for St. Paul’s Godson Rufus-Okomhanru. He emerged over the last 18 months to become a Division I prospect and grabbed the attention of several Missouri Valley Football Conference schools. North Dakota State was the first to offer Rufus-Okomhanru in November and he announced his commitment to the Bison on Saturday, June 14. The 6-foot, 180-pound speedster is the first running back commit of the Bison recruiting class of 2026.

FARGO — In the ensuing days since the landmark House vs. NCAA settlement being approved, chaos still reigns in college athletics. The chaos focuses on the Group of Five and FCS schools in Division I, as they have been granted an extra two weeks to decide if they want to opt into the settlement. Schools will need to notify the NCAA by June 30 if they will be opting in for the 2025-26 season.
