DECATUR - The body discovered Sunday at the scene of a rural Long Creek fire has been identified as 55-year-old Stephanie Krohn of Decatur. Macon County Corner Michael D. Burkham issued a news release Tuesday morning. It came after an autopsy was conducted Monday to identify the body and determine a possible cause of death.

DECATUR — As a young adult, Shelley Jones was envious of the meter maids, even after she received a few parking tickets herself. “I thought those ladies picked on me and looked for my car,” she said. “But I always thought their job would be so fun.”After she began her job as a parking enforcement officer, previously referred to as a meter maid, Jones, now 62, quickly learned no one was looking out for her or her car. “It was never like that,” she said.

DECATUR — Once a Girl Scout, always a Girl Scout. Claire Tozer, a former scout from Decatur Troop 3274, recently earned the Girl Scout Gold Award, the highest honor in Girl Scouts, for her mural in a local pre-school and two little free libraries she made and supplied. Now in college at the Western Illinois University, Tozer credits the scouts for her current success. “It’s an amazing experience,” the college freshman said.
