    QUINCY -- A Western Big 6 Conference rematch was on deck for Quincy High Baseball facing the Galesburg Silver Streaks on Wednesday in front of the Blue Devils crowd in hope for a win this time. The game was a defensive battle between both sides with QHS holding a short 3-2 lead through six innings before Galesburg would break through with four innings in the top of the seventh. QHS would lose 6-3.

    HANNIBAL, Mo. -- Defense has always been a staple behind Hannibal girls soccer success and it’s been no different this season riding a three-game win streak into Tuesday’s cross river matchup with Quincy Notre Dame. The Lady Pirates played great team defense stifling the Lady Raiders with several of their shot attempts either missing the net or stopped by Hannibal goal keeper Ava Turner in route to a 5-1 win for the Lady Pirates.

    HANNIBAL, Mo. -- The Hannibal girls soccer team carried a 22-game winning streak over North Central Missouri Conference rival Mexico entering Monday’s matchup at Veterans Sports Complex and more of the same continued with the Lady Pirates winning their fifth game this year by shutout. “We’ve been trying to do a better job winning stuff in the air,” said Hannibal head coach Eric Hill.

    CANTON, Mo. — After one final season competing for the Canton Tigers on the hard wood that ended with a trip to state, Canton standout forward Preston Brewer is ready for his next basketball chapter. Before his family, friends, teammates and coaches on Friday, Brewer made his official announcement that he will stay close to home and join Quincy University Hawks basketball program next fall.

    QUINCY -- The Quincy Blue Devils have played great soccer to start off the season with a heavy home schedule early on with a 3-1 record overall entering Thursday’s contest with the Sacred Heart-Griffin Cyclones, who are coming off two straight losses after a 3-0 start. QHS goal keeper Ashley Walbring on their matchup with Sacred Heart-Griffin. “It was definitely tough, intense but we worked the ball and I got it out when I need to,” Walbring said.
