It is hoped further repair work to a town war memorial can be carried out as part of an ongoing restoration project. Spalding’s Temple of Remembrance was in need of a ‘significant programme’ of restoration, an architect’s report found two years ago. Since then a programme to restore the Grade I-listed memorial, which sits in Ayscoughfee Gardens, has been undertaken.

South Holland youngsters didn’t miss out on an enjoyable Easter, thanks to a popular appeal. Kind-hearted locals donated treats to Ella’s Project to ensure children in the area didn’t go without a treat over the weekend. “The team at Ella’s Project would like to say a big thank you to everyone in the community for their egg-straordinary effort to support our Easter appeal,” said organiser Mark Le Sage.

Five micro energy storage boxes can be placed on land across South Holland. Councillors voted in favour of passing the schemes in Spalding, Holbeach and Gosberton after applicant AMP Clean Energy requested changes be made to the five projects, which had previously been given the green light. These had to be approved by South Holland District Council’s Planning Committee following the introduction of a new manufacturer.
