WICHITA FALLS (KFDX/KJTL) — Wichita Falls neighbors are noticing an uptick in the homeless population, notably in downtown. Faith Mission CEO Steve Sparks attributes the fact that people from outside Wichita Falls are migrating to the area from larger cities to seek services. “Seven to 10 new intakes around here and the overwhelming majority of those are not from Wichita Falls,” Sparks said. The proposed rates are the first in 13 years—the last being in July 2013 when the Travel Center opened. Currently, the rates are $1.50 for your trip for one ride and an additional $1.50 to return, totaling $3 for a round trip. The proposed rate would eliminate that, and bus riders can pay $3.50 to ride the bus for 24 hours.
