Father takes guilty plea in child endangerment case

WICHITA FALLS, Texas (KAUZ) - Joseph Alaniz, one of the parents accused of endangering their child in March 2024, has taken a guilty plea. In May 2024, Alaniz was arrested after evidence came forward showing he was one of the parents that left United Regional Hospital after their child tested to having methamphetamines in his system.

Share AUSTIN, Texas (KAUZ) - The Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) has added 21-year-old Rondarrius Evans to the Texas 10 Most Wanted Fugitives List. DPS said Evans has been wanted since August 2024 on two counts of capital murder for a potential involvement in a double homicide from July 2024. With Evans added to the list, Texas Crime Stoppers is now offering a cash reward of up to $5,000 for information leading to his arrest.

In the same report, the national average is up 13.2 cents per gallon from a month ago, rising 10.6 cents per gallon in the last week. According to GasBuddy, the cheapest station in Texas was priced at $2.39/g yesterday, while the most expensive was $3.69/g, a difference of $1.30/g.

Wichita Falls area lake levels expected to rise after weekend weather

WICHITA FALLS, Texas (KAUZ) - According to the City of Wichita Falls, the area lake levels rose 1.3% after multiple rounds of rain last week. The combined lake levels of Lake Kickapoo and Lake Arrowhead sit at 67.9%. The City of Wichita Falls stated levels could rise slightly more with runoff from the recent weekend severe weather.
