WICHITA FALLS, Texas (KAUZ) - The Wichita Falls Area Food Bank (WFAFB) has released the results of its Stamp Out Hunger campaign. WFAFB said the Stamp Out Hunger campaign raised an incredible 38,303 pounds of food, or 31,919 meals for their 12-county service area. The Stamp Out Hunger campaign was held on Saturday, May 11, with letter carriers picking up food donations that residents had left out to be donated to the food bank.

TEXAS (KAUZ) - According to AAA Texas crash data, Texas leads the nation in the number of people killed in teen crashes AAA Texas said between 2019 and 2023, 13,135 people died in a crash involving a teen driver across the nation, with 1,463 people in Texas alone. It’s estimated that around 30% of those deaths occurred during the 100 Deadliest Days between Memorial Day and Labor Day.
Fugitive from Texas Most Wanted List captured in Hidalgo County

TEXAS (KAUZ) - The Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) has announced the capture of a man from the Texas 10 Most Wanted Fugitives List. 45-year-old Eliud Perez Reyes was arrested on Monday, May 26, in Hidalgo County. DPS said he was taken into custody following a traffic stop in Palmview. Upon arrest, Reyes initially provided a false name to officers when asked for identification, which resulted in Reyes also being charged with failure to identify as a fugitive from justice.

DPS said in total, officers stopped more than 7,687 vehicles during the 12-hour operation across Texas, Arkansas, Louisiana, New Mexico, and Oklahoma.
