Roads on the Island are wet with water buildup in some areas. Visibility is reduced on the Avalon Peninsula due to the rain and fog. Reduce speeds as hydroplaning is a possibility this morning. In Labrador, roads are bare and dry with a few icy patches. Marine Atlantic and provincial ferries are operating on time. At the Deer Lake Regional Airport, Provincial Airlines flights 209 and 211 are cancelled. Flights are on time in St. John’s and Gander.

Roads across the province are mostly bare and dry with good visibility. The only exception is in western Labrador where there are some icy patches with fair visibility. Provincial ferries and Marine Atlantic are on time. There are no flight delays across the province. Post Views: 0

Fuel prices are down this week as the fuel transitions to the spring blend. For the Island portion of the province, gasoline decreased by up to 2.8 cents per litre. Diesel went down by 6.5 cents. Furnace oil heating fuel decreased by 4.91 cents and propane heating fuel dropped by 0.3 cents. In Labrador, gas increased in Zones 10, 11, 11a, 11c, and 14. Fuel in Zones 13 and 13a decreased by 1.6 cents.

The RNC is currently responding to an incident in the Airport Heights area in St. John’s. At this time, the incident remains contained to a residence in the area. Residents in and near Airport Heights are asked to remain away from the area for the present time while police work to resolve the matter. The provincial government will invest $2 million over the next five years to support cellular upgrades in three communities. The communities of Heart’s Delight-Islington, Holyrood and Trinity East were selected to receive enhanced coverage. It is anticipated the work will take place over the next two years.
