    ASHEVILLE, N.C. (WLOS) — The City of Asheville has a new parking payment system. This comes as the contract for the previous city meter parking provider, Passport, is set to expire in early July. The new app includes a text-to-payment feature and a real-time map of meter availability. Additional stickers and signage will be placed in the city throughout June.

    ASHEVILLE, N.C. (WLOS) — Hundreds of educators fought for the future of their schools at a town hall Tuesday night. Buncombe County's current budget proposal would not fully fund both Asheville City and Buncombe County schools. Asheville City Schools had previously asked the county for a budget close to $21 million. Buncombe County Schools requested nearly $106 million but is slated to receive around $98 million.
