GRAHAM COUNTY, N.C. (WLOS) — The Haoe Lead Fire, which has been burning for 11 days, has now reached another milestone, as it surpassed 3,000 acres on April 22. The United States Forest Service reported in a news release on April 22 that the Haoe Lead Fire's size was 3,103 acres and that it was 29% contained. The fire is located in an area in Nantahala National Forest approximately 7 miles West of Robbinsville.

ASHEVILLE, N.C. (WLOS) — The City of Asheville posted on its website that a section of Patton Avenue in downtown that has been closed for weeks has reopened on one side. "Thanks to efficient progress, the contractor is ahead of schedule and has already completed the milling and paving of the South side and Eastbound lanes on Patton Avenue," the city said. This section of Patton Avenue is at the intersection of Clingman Avenue and stretches to French Broad Avenue.

Asheville Regional Airport's renovations are ongoing, and soon, visitors will see new establishments that are a big part of the overall project. In an April 15 news release, the airport, in conjunction with Paradies Lagardère, announced concessions plans for the new terminal. According to the release, there will be five food and beverage restaurants, two retail stores and multiple vending concessions options are planned for the terminal, currently under construction.

A fast-growing Asian street food company has selected Western North Carolina to invest $6.45 million into building its first company-operated manufacturing facility. According to an April 14 news release from North Carolina Gov. Josh Stein, Wow Bao will create 88 jobs in Rutherford County at its new facility, which will be located at 212 Nuway Packing Drive in Forest City.
