BILLINGS — Through the end of the work week, expect significant snow accumulations in the mountains of 8 to 16 inches and in the foothills, 2 to 5 inches. The lower elevations will see light snow or a rain/snow mix. Highs on Wednesday and Thursday will be mainly mid-to-lower 40s with 20s and low 30s in the mornings. Saturday morning may be especially chilly, slipping to the teens to low 20s in some places.

BILLINGS — Moisture streaming in from the Pacific will enhance snowfall in mountain areas west of Billings, especially on the west and southwest-facing slopes. Some of these areas could pick up 10 to 20 inches of wet snow. On the other hand, some areas may experience winds pushing down off the mountains that could lower snowfall amounts. Temperatures will be mainly 28 to 35 Tuesday morning and mainly 40s in the afternoon for the lower elevations.

Light snow and flurries should decrease overall through Sunday evening. There is a risk for fog development, especially from Billings westward. where the precipitation was heaviest Sunday. If breaks in the cloud cover occur, dense fog may quickly form. There remains a small possibility of patchy freezing drizzle later in the night if low-level saturation persists. With temperatures dropping below freezing to mainly the 20s, wet roads could become icy.

BILLINGS — Rain chances will end late Tuesday evening, with conditions expected to dry out overnight by early Wednesday morning. Dry conditions will dominate through Thursday afternoon, with a partly cloudy sky. Temperatures will rise into the 60s and 70s° across the region Wednesday. Winds in the lower elevations will calm, with breezy conditions in the foothills west of Billing expecting gusts up to 30 mph tonight.
