That’ll do Kyson. That’ll do. Oklahoma baseball opened the Round Rock Classic on Friday with a 3-2 win over Minnesota. As for Oklahoma’s ace Kyson Witherspoon? Superb. But it didn’t go without a hiccup. That’s singular. One. One hiccup to be exact after allowing a solo home run on the third pitch of the game to Josh Fitzgerald, Witherspoon proceeded to retire the next 13 batters he faced, striking out the side in the fifth and the sixth and allowing just a pair of singles in the fifth and seventh.

The outfield for the Sooners will look a bit different this season for Oklahoma baseball. That was probably a given. Gone are Kendall Pettis, John Spikerman and Bryce Madron. Pettis has settled into a role with the university, and you’ll hear him on the radio broadcast alongside Toby Rowland occasionally this spring.
