A5K WALK STARTED WITH A SACRAMENTO BREAST CANCER SURVIVOR CUTTING A BIG PINK RIBBON AT THE START LINE THERE. THIS ANNUAL EVENT IS CALLED MAKING STRIDES AGAINST BREAST CANCER. IT’S A FUNDRAISER FOR THE AMERICAN CANCER SOCIETY AND KCRA 3 WAS PROUD TO BE A SPONSOR ONCE AGAIN.

While Pacific Gas & Electric Co. shuts off power to thousands of customers during windy conditions, the utility's CEO is talking about their long-term work to minimize service disruptions. PG&E for years now has been proactively shutting off power to customers in areas it deems at risk of wildfires. Those planned outages are known as Public Safety Power Shutoffs (PSPS).
