A judge has sentenced one of several people charged in a Michigan price-fixing schemes to prison. Timothy Baugher, a former president of Pontiac, Mi.-based Asphalt Specialists (ASI), pleaded guilty to conspiring to violate federal antitrust law by colluding with F. Allied Construction Co. on driveway, large parking lot and private roadway projects. A judge sentenced him to six months in prison and ordered him to pay a fine of $20,000.

A federal judge in Denver has awarded AECOM $14.2 million in legal and expert witness expenses in its successful breach-of-contract lawsuit against contractor Flatiron. The two companies had been design-build teammates adding lanes opened in 2020 to the E-470 toll highway in that city. The awards, in two separate orders, came to $8.3 million in attorney costs and $5.9 million for expert witness and other costs.
