Metro Vancouverites should brace for some wet weather this weekend. V.I.A.'s Downtown Centre Weatherhood station shows a high of 23 C and a low of 13 C on Friday, May 30, with a mix and cloud (see slide two). Environment Canada meteorologist Bobby Sekhon told V.I.A. in a previous interview that a ridge of high pressure would bring warmer temperatures to the region on Friday, but it would break down overnight.

A Canadian pop icon will be wowing the crowd at Rogers Arena for one night this fall. Internationally acclaimed pop star Shawn Mendes is making a stop on his On the Road Again tour in Vancouver on Sunday, Oct. 12. Mendes hails from Pickering, Ont. Canada's flag carrier is offering complimentary ticket changes for travellers flying to and from Vancouver on Friday, May 30, amid significant delays. A Vancouver International Airport (YVR) spokesperson told V.I.A. that crews couldn't complete overnight paving work on its north runway to allow for re-opening in the morning due to an "unforeseen equipment issue" with its asphalt supplier, resulting in flight delays and cancellations.
