Montgomery County police have charged Robert Deeter, 31, of Bethesda with kidnapping and other charges in connection with an alleged abduction that occurred Friday afternoon in the 10300 block of Old Georgetown Road in Bethesda, police said Saturday night in a statement. In addition to kidnapping, Deeter faces charges of first-degree assault, stalking, harassment and multiple handgun charges, according to the statement.

Pho Wheels, a kiosk and food truck business serving Vietnamese street food, will celebrate the opening of its first brick-and-mortar restaurant in Burtonsville Crossing on Friday, the restaurant said Tuesday in a social media post. In a video posted to social media, owner Tuan Vo stood on top of a Pho Wheels food truck decorated with black-and-white graffiti and illustrations to announce that the celebration will include a live DJ, line dancing, a ribbon cutting and giveaways of hoodies.

The long-awaited Roaming Rooster, a locally owned fried chicken eatery, will be holding its grand opening April 24, marketing director Jerusalem Tilahun said Tuesday in an email to Bethesda Today. From 10 a.m. to noon, the Roaming Rooster team will hold an event with a ribbon-cutting ceremony at the shop at 8537 Georgia Ave. Local elected officials and community leaders are expected to attend. The event will end at noon and then the eatery will be open to the public.

Two people were injured after a truck backed into and struck them in the area of 500 Dover Road near N. Horners Lane in Rockville Wednesday afternoon, Montgomery County Fire and Rescue Service (MCFRS) spokesperson Pete Piringer said in a social media post. The two pedestrians were evaluated by MCFRS crews and transported to the hospital with “traumatic injuries,” Piringer said.
