It was a testament to tire degradation, team strategy and true grit Sunday afternoon under the 92 degree Southern California sun where 27 NTT INDYCAR SERIES drivers took to the second of seventeen championship races in the inaugural Thermal Club INDYCAR Grand Prix. Last year an exhibition race for $1 million was held at the private race club which has been used as a location for pre-season testing.

Nevada Irrigation District officials reported this week that a new issue regarding damage to the PG&E operated Spaulding Reservoir had occurred — this time regarding an intake tower. According to PG&E officials, the condition of this intake tower is currently unknown and the severity of the damage will still have to be assessed. “The Lower Intake is currently out of service pending a physical dive inspection to confirm condition,” PG&E Communications Principal Paul Moreno said.
