    Novant Health closed a deal this week to acquire OrthoCarolina imaging assets across the Charlotte and Triad regions. Novant Health closed on an acquisition this week that will expand its imaging network across the Carolinas. The health-care system, in partnership with MedQuest Associates, acquired 18 fixed and mobile MRI assets from locally based OrthoCarolina at locations across the Charlotte and Triad regions. The deal closed on March 31.

    The uptown Charlotte office property had last sold for about $1 million in 1997. Charlotte-based Shamrock Management Corp. sold the Court Arcade building at 725 E. Trade St. to real estate investment trust Digital Realty Trust Inc. (NYSE: DLR) for $9.5 million, according to Mecklenburg County real estate records. The sale closed on March 31, records show. Court Arcade, which was built in the late 1920s, is a two-story, 18,573-square-foot boutique office building in uptown's First Ward.

    New York-based investment firm Nuveen Real Estate has tapped a Charlotte executive as its next global head of real estate. Chad Phillips took over the role, effective today, replacing Chris McGibbon, who is retiring after nearly 25 years with the firm. As Nuveen's global head of real estate, Phillips is responsible for managing a portfolio with $141 billion in debt and equity investments across 22 countries.
