The earned paid sick time provisions of Proposition A are set to take effect on May 1, 2025. Missouri Proposition A requires employers to provide employees working in Missouri at least 1 hour of sick leave for every 30 hours worked and allows carryover of up to 80 of such hours per year. The law applies to almost all Missouri employees, including full-time, part-time and temporary with limited exceptions.

In the 2024 election, Missouri voters approved Proposition A, a measure that raises the minimum wage beginning January 1, 2025, and introduces mandatory earned paid sick leave for most workers effective May 1, 2025. Applicability: Proposition A applies to most private employers and applies to most employees including full and part-time with limited exceptions. Minimum Wage Increase: Proposition A establishes a gradual increase in Missouri’s minimum wage over the next two years.
