A Jefferson Parish woman convicted of killing a 6-year-old Harahan girl has been sentenced. Bunnak Landon was convicted of first-degree murder by a jury Thursday in the brutal killing of 6-year-old Bella Fontenelle, leaving her body in a bucket on the child's mother's front lawn. Landon was also found guilty on two counts of obstruction of justice. Landon faced trial for four days. The jury reached its verdict in less than an hour.

The trial of a woman accused of killing a 6-year-old Harahan girl continued Thursday with more testimony. Bunnak Landon is accused of brutally killing 6-year-old Bella Fontenelle and leaving her body in a bucket on the child's mother's front lawn. Landon is charged with first-degree murder and two counts of obstruction of justice. The defense has begun presenting witnesses, including a paramedic and a psychiatrist, following the state resting its case.

A shocking video of a fight leads to the arrest of two school employees in Marrero. The Jefferson Parish school system tells us the incident happened at Lincoln School for the Arts. The Jefferson Parish Sheriff's Office says it was notified of the incident on April 17, 2025, which occurred earlier this year in January. "During the investigation, two employees from the school were arrested via misdemeanor summons for contributing to the delinquency of a juvenile," JPSO said.
