The decision comes two months after the school reached a settlement with students to recognize the group and end a yearslong legal dispute that at one point reached the U.S. Supreme Court.

May 12, 2025, 11:05 PM EDTA stubborn fire at a warehouse in Baltimore had first responders stepping back for an exterior attack on the flames as they disrupted a major passenger rail line along the Mid-Atlantic coast. The fire in west Baltimore was reported shortly before 7 p.m., and it quickly escalated in scale from 4-alarm, to 5-alarm, the Baltimore Fire Department said in a series of statements on social media.

A junior at Florida State watched a gunman pull up to campus and begin opening fire near the student union in what ended up being a deadly shooting at the Tallahassee university Thursday afternoon. At least two people were killed and five people were taken to local hospitals with gunshot wounds, FSU Police Chief Jason Trumbower said at a Thursday-afternoon news conference. The two people killed were not students, Trumbower said, and the gunman was also taken to the hospital.

A Temple University student died Tuesday from injuries sustained from falling high off a light pole during wild celebrations of the Philadelphia Eagles' victory in the NFC title game, authorities said. Tyler Sabapathy, 18, was a native of Toronto and a first-year student at the university’s College of Public Health, majoring in exercise and sport science, Temple said.
