Cy-Fair ISD's enrollment is expected to decline slightly over the next 10 years, ending its run as one of the fastest-growing districts in Texas, according to a new demographics report. With 118,057 students, Cy-Fair ISD remains Texas's third-largest school district, after only Houston and Dallas ISDs, which have both been hemorrhaging students over the last decade.

Spring ISD's Superintendent Lupita Hinojosa resigned after a 2.5-hour closed session discussion during the district's regular board meeting Tuesday. Hinojosa said she would step down effective June 30, and the board voted 6-0 to draw up a voluntary retirement agreement with the leader.

The Humble ISD board is investigating newly appointed Superintendent Roger Brown for allegedly saying he wanted to "lynch the mayor" after being without power during Hurricane Beryl. Henry Phipps, Humble ISD's chief education support services officer, said during Tuesday's board meeting that he was offended by the superintendent's use of a racially charged word at the late-March leadership meeting of over 100 employees.

A controversial policy that would require a school district to notify parents if their child requests to use a different name or pronoun at school will be in the hands of Fort Bend ISD trustees this month. The policy, first adopted in 96,000-student Katy ISD in 2023, was recently passed in Cy-Fair ISD, a 116,000-student district, earlier this year, despite significant community opposition.
