My favorite place in the world is any supermarket open past 9 p.m. While others meditate or go to the gym to alleviate their anxiety, I feel most powerful when I am greeted by the piercing cold of a grocery store’s sliding doors, momentarily distracted from my mind’s menu of disquietudes: the helplessness of witnessing war on screens of every size, the impending election and its consequences, the oceans between me and my family.

Last week, Issey Miyake Homme Plissé released the first round of items from its Autumn/Winter 2024/25 menswear collection, created in collaboration with Ronan Bouroullec. The collection, titled Immersed in the Wilds of Creativity, debuted at Paris Fashion Week Men’s this past January against a backdrop of the artist and designer’s felt-tip drawings that lined the walls of the Palais de Tokyo.

At Gallery Baton in Seoul, an immersive universe undulates human and extraterrestrial. The world, as seen by the South Korean artist Doki Kim, glows blue and expansive, but it is the intimate connections to human life and materiality that resonate most. Shapes shift and meaning undulates from every angle throughout the gallery for “The Apple and The Moon,” which opened last week and runs until September 14, 2024. In one dark room, lights are strewn across the floor.
