Lex Knox and Tommy Fortson were recently inducted into the South Carolina Business Hall of Fame. The pair are business leaders at Terminix. Knox is chairman of the board and CEO, and Fortson is the vice chairman. The South Carolina Business Hall of Fame was established in 1985 by the Junior Achievement of Greater South Carolina and The State newspaper. Knox’s leadership has fostered economic growth and improved the lives of employees and the broader community.

The longtime pest management professionals (PMPs) are entrepreneurs who established their own successful pest control businesses. Ed ran Checkmate Exterminators for 27 years, selling it to Terminix International in 1998.

The Colorado Pest Control Association (CPCA) selected Lamplight Professional Services as its new association management company, effective April 2025. The firm’s owner, Christina Gilmer, will serve as CPCA’s executive director. Gilmer brings extensive industry expertise, including three years as executive director of the Arizona Pest Professional Organization (AZPPO). Under her leadership, AZPPO strengthened its professional development programs and industry advocacy initiatives.
