There are long delays on the M4 this afternoon following a vehicle fire. Two lanes were closed on the M4 westbound between J34 A4119 (Miskin) and J35 A473 (Pencoed). Emergency services and traffic officers attended the scene. Traffic Wales warned motorists to expect disruption. Lanes one and two were closed but have since re-opened. There is also some disruption on the M4 near Newport. One lane of the M4 westbound exit slip road is closed due to a vehicle having a tyre changed at J29.

There are cancellations and delays on rail services in Cardiff due to the 'severe weather'. It is expected to be the hottest day of the year so far, with temperatures expected to reach 29°C in the Welsh capital. Transport for Wales (TfW) said that some lines were blocked due to a track defect caused by the heat between Cardiff Central and Grangetown. Disruption is expected until 3pm at the earliest.

A 20-year-old man from Bristol was also chargedA teenager from Bristol is one of two people charged after a shooting in a Cardiff suburb. The incident happened at a house in Clos y Ffynnon, Pontprennau at about 8pm on Saturday, June 7, and a teenager aged 15 was hospitalised. Police have confirmed that his injuries are not life-threatening.
