By Elliot Steeves Staff Writer Lucky families got to enjoy breakfast with the Easter Bunny on April 12, eight days before Easter Sunday. The event was held in Blaine City Hall concurring with a top-floor easter egg hunt. The Easter Bunny was perched in a chair on top of a stage for photos, and families filled the city hall for breakfast and other Easter goodies.

Ham Lake discusses cannabis ordinance strategy

Ham Lake’s City Council, at the April 7 meeting, discussed a new ordinance to regulate the sale of cannabis products. City Attorney Mark Berglund said that Ham Lake had talked about codifying the item into its city code, and that it was his recommendation to do so. Brandon Stott found safe outside Minnesota

By Elliot Steeves Staff Writer Per a Facebook post from the Anoka Police Department, Brandon Stott, who was reported missing on April 10th after last being seen on April 8th, was determined to be safe and outside the state of Minnesota on April 18th. The Anoka Police shared that no further information will be released at this time, out of respect for Stott's civil rights.

Blaine accepts bid for crack sealing project

At the April 7 meeting, the Blaine City Council unanimously accepted a bid for the 2025 crack sealing project from Asphalt Surface Technologies Corporation, and amended the project budget. The total bid was $191,515.80. Public Works Director Daniel Schleunder said that staff was requesting the money for various streets throughout the city, and that they had received bids on March 27 ranging from $197,000 to $236,00. ASTECH was the lowest bidder.
Fridley Council revokes Daily Massage's license

The Fridley City Council, at the April 14 meeting, revoked the massage therapy license of Daily Massage at Moore Lake Drive by a unanimous vote. The move came after a police investigation yielded evidence of both an employee who did not have a license with the city, as well as advertising on websites for escort services. Per a presentation from Deputy City Clerk Beth Kondrick, the business was previously located in Moon Plaza, before moving to a rented space in Dave’s Sports Shop in early 2024.
