Two people were shot early Monday near J.A. Hargrave Elementary in Tarrant County, and a gun was found in a field on the Crowley school district campus, authorities said. Deputies found one victim on North Crowley Cleburne Road outside the school and another at a residence nearby. They were taken to hospitals and are expected to survive, a Tarrant County Sheriff’s Office spokesperson said. Authorities did not announced an arrest.

Mahoning Matters A man drowned on Sunday while swimming in the West Fork Trinity River in northwest Fort Worth, police said. The swimmer drowned about 4:45 p.m. in the river near the 2500 block of Roberts Cut Off Road. Fort Worth Fire Department divers were at the scene Sunday night trying to retrieve the man’s body.

About four years before police believe she killed her baby and herself by intentionally driving her car into the Trinity River, Melanie Robinson tried either to push another son off of a bridge or convince the boy to jump, according to state district court records in Tarrant County. Fort Worth police arrested Robinson in connection with the June 5, 2021, bridge incident on South Freeway where it leads to an I-20 ramp. The boy’s age is not clear.
