Still enjoying the Brat summer? Just because something is green doesn’t make it Brat, or good, or summery. By that logic, St Patrick’s Day, limes and ASDA are all Brat, and they’re just not. It doesn’t matter either way, though: Brat summer is over. And while that means this season is now perhaps more conventional than Charlie XCX might like, London has plenty to keep you occupied.

A pint in the sun is a precious thing: light cascading through beer; gentle snorts of laughter all around; the sound of crisp packets being torn open for sharing. Summer hasn’t been kind thus far but this week has brought renewed promise of warmth. Some say this coming weekend might temperatures more often seen in Ibiza. London’s pub scene heaves with glorious spots to drink in, though it’s little surprise that outside space is still a tricky find in some parts of town.

London has a lot going for it in the sunshine, but while the weather-dependent events have remained precarious in the unpredictable June of late, there is still plenty to be excited about in the bars, pubs and restaurants around town. From a new French spot in Covent Garden to a pub from a London legend, there’s a lot to have on your radar for this coming week. Across the city there’s also live music, a fabulous photography exhibition and a huge new play opening at the National Theatre.

The best summer days lead to long summer nights. London looks and feels its brilliant best when the daytime sun stretches into a warm evening, allowing for rooftop lingering and late nights out. Or, to put it plainly, it’s a chance to go Out out. This weekend is full of those chances. New restaurant openings and old favourites, naturally, are below alongside a big night celebrating pirate radio and UK garage, and possibly the weirdest late-night comedy show in town.

Love the fact that Africa is starting to protect its culinary treasures. What is next on the list? Chocolate? Fufu? Oh what I would give for a plate of fufu sauce arachide 😋https://t.co/34mytpvvQR

Good summary by @karinkirk_mt in @CC_Yale of the #Montana youth climate trial. Whatever the outcome, my sense is that it will remain a milestone in our global consciousness of the impact of the climate emergency. https://t.co/NzOBFwCase

Never been much of a Chartreuse fan myself but I love the Carthusian monks' stand against the pressures of consumerism. Also, if you're ever in the Alps, go and see the Monastery: you can't go in but the location is stunning and serenely peaceful #slowfood https://t.co/Hg4yHdHSDY
