The latest numbers show 16 people died on Nebraska roads last month, six fewer than in March of last year. The Nebraska Department on Transportation reports the 16 deaths happened in 14 crashes. One was a pedestrian and two were motorcyclists. Eight of the thirteen vehicle occupants killed were not using seatbelts, two were using a seatbelt, and three had seatbelt usage marked as "unknown."There were four fatalities on the interstate, six on other highways, and six on local roads.

(Omaha, NE) -- Funding for six student groups at the University of Nebraska Omaha are on hold after complains triggered an audit. The UNO student newspaper, The Gateway reported that students were made aware of the problem at a meeting where administrators reported the six student groups are not following the university's rule that the money must be used for a broad-based student population.
