    The Metrocentre has partnered with a Deaf organisation in order to be more inclusive to shoppers who struggle to hear. The new initiative means Deaf and hard-of-hearing visitors can now connect instantly with qualified British Sign Language (BSL) interpreters via the SignLive app, helping them access everything from store directions, opening times and mobility services . SignLive, is a Deaf-owned and Deaf-led UK organisation that provides online BSL interpreting services.

    The Chronicle Sunshine Fund will once again be hosting the Sunshine Run 5K this year - with one non-runner challenging himself to take part. The charity, which supports children with additional needs and disabilities by providing specialist and adapted equipment, was thrilled to see that Shaun Anderson, assistant operations manager for Stagecoach, will be taking part in the 5K run along Newcastle's iconic Quayside for the first time.

    Good causes across the UK are celebrating after the Pride of Britain Fund announced the winners of grants totalling more than £100,000. The money will be given to local community groups and individuals around the UK to mark the 25th year since the Pride of Britain Awards were founded by the Mirror. The Fund shortlisted from almost 2,000 applications, and local communities then voted to decide which projects in their area were most deserving of funding.

After the success of the theatre production - first premiered at the Northern Stage in Newcastle in October 2024 and currently on tour around the UK - the 80-minute multi-camera screen adaptation has now been filmed in a specially constructed black box film studio.
