The Mail on Sunday

The Mail on Sunday

The Mail on Sunday is a British tabloid newspaper known for its conservative stance. It was founded in 1982 by Lord Rothermere and quickly became the top-selling Sunday newspaper in the UK after the News of the World ceased publication in July 2011. Its sister publication, the Daily Mail, has been in circulation since 1896. Following the closure of the News of the World, The Mail on Sunday recorded sales of about 2.5 million copies weekly in July 2011, although this number declined to just under 2 million by September. The newspaper is owned by the Daily Mail and General Trust (DMGT), but its editorial team operates independently from the Daily Mail. In March 2014, it had an average daily circulation of 1,555,977 copies.
