Jun. 3—WILKES-BARRE — A Wilkes-Barre hotel and its insurance carrier filed a three count civil lawsuit against an elevator company alleging negligence in repairing the hotel's elevator that caught fire causing more than $550,000 in damages in December 2023. Days Inn Wilkes-Barre Shiv Sai, LLC, and Erie Insurance Exchange, filed the suit in Luzerne County Court against Otis Elevator Company, also known as Otis World Headquarters, of Farmington, Conn.
